Nino D’Antonio Germano is celebrated as one of Italy’s greatest 20th-century artists, primarily known for his work as a sculptor and painter, he also created a several pieces of jewelry. Germano drew inspiration from classical themes, often depicting ancient Greek and Roman mythological figures. Each jewel was meticulously hand-sculpted in wax, using the mold a limited number of times, making each jewel exclusive.
From the pages of “Rings: the Alice and Louis Koch collection.” This ring is a faithful reproduction of a German renaissance ring depicting a hunter and boar locked in heated combat. As the story goes, Louis Koch made a replica of the original renaissance ring to fool a well known jewelry historian into believing the replica was original. The historian believed the replica was an original which spawned a newfound interest in this style of ring. His ring was likely inspired by this story. Size 6.5.
