Antique 15K Rose Cut Diamond Crowned Heart Ring

$4,300.00

The crowned heart symbol has been used to express love and fidelity since the 17th century. Its literal meaning can be interpreted to 'let love rule'. With the heart symbolizing love and the crown symbolizing loyalty, these rings were often used as betrothal rings. Although engagement rings were uncommon and not requently given until the Victorian era, the crowned heart was an exception. These rare pieces were given as a token of love and devotion.

This beautiful example features a lavishly hand-chased band with a glinting foil-backed rose-cut diamond heart, surmounted by a tiny diamond-set crown. Truly a romantic piece. Ring size 6.

Measurements: 11.28mm north to south

Metal: silver and 15 karat gold

Weight: 3.3 grams

Notes: This ring has been lovingly reworked In antiquity. It's possible that the heart component came from an older jewel and was added to the 15k band.  One tiny rose cut diamond replacement in the crown.
