This exceptional French brooch centers on a serene beauty with upswept hair perched above an old pear cut diamond. Symmetrically arranged openwork foliate flow around her, further embellished by a tiny clusters of grapes and a pair of handled urns. The reverse is beautifully detailed as well and contains a partial maker's mark on the pin stem and a French eagles head hallmark on the c-clasp. I believe this brooch was likely made by Maison Menu c1895.
