In floriography, the red currant was a symbol of hope and anticipation. This delicate sprig of glowing carnelian gooseberries proudly displays leaves aglitter with tiny rose cut diamonds. Masterfully hand-fabricated in darkened silver over 18k gold. Mid 19th C, France.

Markings: numbered “0688”, French eagles head hallmark indicating 18K on the pinstem, partial maker’s mark on the pinstem
Notes: It appears there was once a fourth berry, as a the gold wire connected to the lowest berry has been trimmed.
