Late 19th Century 18K Pearl, Ruby and Emerald Bee Pin Pendant

$9,200.00

Victorian era romance and whimsy is abuzz in this delightful late 19th century bee pendant/pin. The bee is a virtuous symbol of hard work, carrying the sentiment, “busy as a bee”. It could also represent the givers feelings. A sweet way to say, “Will you bee mine”. Naturalistically designed and brilliantly modeled in 18k gold, this charming emerald eyed bee is adorned with a pair of shimmering ruby and rose cut diamond forewings that gently rest upon glowing emerald hindwings. The body is artfully composed of a pink tourmaline thorax and a large lustrous baroque pearl abdomen decorated with a small rose cut diamond lined shield. Some hints of black enamel detail add the finishing flourishes to this regal and rare treasure.
